I decided, since the official Earth Day is coming up, I'd talk about ways to help the earth through fashion. I actually mentioned a few ways in my other blog posts, but I decided to go into detail here.
I've been wearing nail polish since I was 5 years old. Over the years I've tried a few brands. I didn't stray too far from the brands I knew. I didn't want chemicals or animal byproducts in my nail polish.
Perhaps you don't know what makes nail polish not vegan. Well, I didn't know either. I only knew I didn't want it on my nails. So I decided to research it. Non-vegan nail polish contains gelatin, milk, lanolin, honey, beeswax, royal jelly, and carmine. However just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's cruelty-free.
While researching for this I found out about the toxins in the normal nail polish and realize that a lot of these nail polish brands are very harmful to us when we use them. So I've put together chemical free, cruelty free, and vegan nail polish into a list.
I was excited when I found Koi Footwear, as I am a huge fan of chunky and platform shoes! They are a 100% vegan show company that offer just that! If you are a fan of platform shoes, then please read the rest.
Often when you look for clothing that use vegan alternatives to animal materials, they are cheap, and they fall apart and shed. Then you can no longer use them. It is unfortunate for vegans that real leather lasts such a long time. So many of the leather alternatives used for shoes, belts, and bags are very expensive. Most people don’t have money to spend on overly priced items, so I’ve put together a list of 3 affordable vegan fashion brands.
