Since we are in a troubling time, regarding our health, I thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone about good hygiene practices.
Washing your hands is the most important hygiene practice to prevent getting sick. We touch on so many things that others touch on when we are out in public, like door knobs, money, shopping carts, gym equipment, etc. So many germs end up on these objects, which is why it is important to wash your hands. Wash your hands when you come home from school or work, before you eat, and after you use the restroom. If you want to take it a step further, you can wash your hands every time after you touch a public item.
Cleaning public items
Cleaning public items is also a way to prevent getting sick. Like I said before, we touch on a lot of items that are open to the public. Although this is not an option for every public item, unfortunately, there are usually wipes so you can clean whatever you are about to use. If wipes aren’t an option, hand sanitizer is also offered, so when you are done using whatever you were using, you can use hand sanitizer to remove the germs on your hands.
Cleaning off your fruits and vegetables is also a way to prevent from getting sick. This also goes back to public items being constantly touched and collecting germs from contact. Produce has always carried germs, as evidenced by food-borne illnesses, which is why it is important to wash your produce. Washing produce with produce cleaners can clean off dirt and germs.
It doesn’t hurt to try and be a little cleaner. So please, try these hygiene practices and protect yourselves from this virus.
