I decided, since the official Earth Day is coming up, I'd talk about ways to help the earth through fashion. I actually mentioned a few ways in my other blog posts, but I decided to go into detail here.
#1 Don't use bleach.
Bleach is a chemical that is harmful to not only the earth, but humans as well when used in laundry. Bleach can leak into oceans, lakes, and rivers, which can harm all the animals around the water and in it.
#2 Don't Wear Animal Derived Clothing.
The main material to avoid is leather, especially since it is one of the most harmful. More leather means more cows. Cow poop causes green house gases which is harmful to the ozone layer and the gas can trap sunlight, making it hotter on Earth.
#3 Thrift, Donate, & Sell.
Another way to help the Earth is by thrift-shopping for new wardrobe pieces, and by donating or selling your old clothes . Giving away your your old clothes and thrift-shopping is a way to decrease the amount of waste you send to landfills. It also saves you money.
These are only a few ways to help. There are plenty more ways to help the Earth. The Earth is important, so keep it clean! Happy Earth Day, everyone!
