As a vegan and a "tree hugger", I find vegan and green fashion important for numerous reason. One being that chemical clothes, like acid-wash jeans, are harmful to the earth. Due to global warming, I believe that we should do all that we can to decrease chemical use.
Some of you may not know what vegan and green fashion is. Vegan fashion is clothing with no animal products. I find that it is easy to find bottoms and tops that are vegan, however, shoes and purses are somewhat harder to find. Green fashion is chemical free and organic. So, yes, yeet those acid wash jeans out of the window.
The most commonly used animal product for clothes is leather. It is used for belts, shoes, watchbands, etc. I find leather and fur to be the cruelest two of the top three that I'm mentioning. They take the skin off animals for the sake of measly clothes.I find lives more important then clothes. Is that just me?
Furs are often used for coats, boots, etc. As I said above, it is quite a cruel product, and I'd advise you not buy these products. The more a company sells, the more they make off killing, the more animals, like cute little innocent bunnies, they kill.
Wool is complicated. There is many opinions on this topic. Shearing can cause cuts on the sheep where their pee can run into it, infecting it, and bugs can lay eggs inside and the larvae will eat the sheep from the inside. Perhaps at some point, after years of being domesticated, they started to rely on shearing. I believe that wool is fine to wear, although some say it's bad.
I hope you think of changing your wardrobe to a more natural and vegan style. It is not only beneficial for the earth and animals, but for humans as well.
